PCR Test with COVID-19 Travel Certificate
This test is a swab of the back of the mouth (tonsils and pharynx) and the nose. It is important to follow the instructions to ensure that there is the best chance of the test finding whether the virus is there or not. Your sample is analysed using the latest PCR technology in conjunction with our accredited partner laboratory. It is a molecular assay based on the detection of the viral nucleic material (RNA) within the covid-19 coronavirus. Project Olive can provide a COVID-19 travel certificate with your swab test results. The certificate supports your ability to travel where a COVID-19 negative test result is required, or to return to work if your employer is requesting a negative result. Signed by your lab clinician, it outlines your test result as well as the method of testing. It is your responsibility to check specific flight and border requirements for travel and to allow adequate time to receive your test results in time for your travel dates.
ADDITIONAL TEST INFORMATION
This is a PCR swab test which detects active presence of the virus i.e. shows that you currently have COVID-19. These are the tests currently used by the NHS and approved by Public Health England and are fully compliant with government guidelines.
You will take the swab sample yourself, following the guidance included with the test kit. A YouTube link is provided for additional guidance on taking the swab should you need it.
You will pack the swab yourself in the prepaid packaging provided and post it at the Post Office. This ensures the fastest turn around for your test. You MUST use the packaging that we provide to send your sample back to the Lab.
Your test will be received at our partner medical laboratories which are all UKAS applicant laboratories to ISO 15189 and have also been approved by the UK Department of Health and Social Care to carry out Covid-19 testing on their behalf. They are currently screening care homes, schools and GP surgeries for the UK government nationwide.
Your results will be notified to the email address you have already provided. The lab aims to process all tests on the same day that they are received by them. You will receive your results as soon as possible and the aim is to turn the test around within 48 hours. Results may arrive late at night as the lab works throughout.
Whilst we endeavour to ensure that express PCR test results are turned around within 48 hours, we cannot guarantee it. In most cases we will absolutely deliver turnaround times within 48 hours, however due to the potential for courier issues and the (very rare) potential for the lab to fail to meet their own standards, Project Olive cannot take responsibility for any travel disruption you may face. Although we will work with you at all times to make sure your trip is successful.
Your results documents will include your results, which will be either Negative or Positive. You will be provided with information to help you understand your coronavirus self-test kits results.
There is a 1% chance your test result can come back as Inconclusive and the lab will inform us that you need a retest. There are a number of factors why this happens and the lab will not be able to be too specific. Inconclusive tests mean the lab can not prove you DID NOT have Covid-19 when you were tested, you will be advised to not fly by our team until you are retested.
There is no facility for you to call or email to chase lab results.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LAB IS CLOSED ON 1ST JANUARY DUE TO A PUBLIC HOLIDAY SO THIS MAY CAUSE A DELAY IN REPORTING YOUR RESULTS.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION
You have selected the Postal Delivery option for your test.
If you order the Postal Delivery test before Noon, we will post your test kit to your home address on that same day. Otherwise, your kit will be posted to your home on the following working day.
We will make every effort to post Test kits out special delivery by 1pm the next day.
